MAD RIVER VALLEY

Localvore Project

Celebrating and supporting local food in the Mad River Valley - those who eat it and those who grow it - through education, community connections, and collective wisdom.

High-tech tomatoes. Mysterious milk. Supersquash. Are we supposed to eat this stuff? Or is it going to eat us?

Mad River Valley Foodshed Map Now Available!

This has been a dream of ours since our Localvore group first formed back in 2006 - to document the Mad River Valley Foodshed and make it available in a map.

Thanks to small grants from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture and the Ben and Jerry's Foundation this map* is now available!

We will be distributing the maps at events throughout the summer or you can get a map at the MRV Chamber of Commerce.

Kate Stephenson headed up this project and worked with graphic artist Sian Foulkes an the design.  It was printed right here in the Mad River Valley by E-Color!  Nice job!

* Please note that some farms asked not to be listed and others were so new that they didn't make it onto this map, but we plan to keep the map up-to-date so please let us know of other farms that need to be on the map and we will add them to the on-line maps and also make sure they are on the next printing.

Google Map of the Mad River Valley Foodshed Updated Too!

We have also just updated our interactive Google Map of our Foodshed to match the printed map.
